Upcoming for me is Experience Hendrix on 23rd. Awesome diverse bunch of guitar players playing Hendrix. From Website:

Joe Satriani, Jonny Lang, Eric Johnson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Brad Whitford (of Aerosmith), Doyle Bramhall II, Ernie Isley, Living Colour, Double Trouble’s Chris Layton, along with bassist Billy Cox. Cox, who first befriended Hendrix when the two were in the 101st Airborne division of the US Army. Cox played in both the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Band of Gypsys and performed with Hendrix at such landmark festivals as Woodstock and the Isle of Wight. Cox commented, "It's a thrill for me to play Jimi's music for audiences now as it was in the 1960s. The Experience Hendrix tours have shown how timeless this music really is." Joe Satriani remarked, "I finally get to pay tribute to my hero the right way, on stage with an amazing, once in a lifetime, line up of musicians!" Sacred Steel featuring Robert Randolph, Susan Tedeschi and David Hidalgo and Cesar Rosas of Los Lobos are also performing on selected Experience Tour dates.

Then it is off to the now infamous Pittsburgh date on 26th. Hope to bring a crew! The best local music publication in the area called "Pittsburgh City Paper" has had this ad last couple weeks for Altar Bar.Hope to follow up with Heath.

Out of the outdoor shows announced only Tom Petty and wait for it... The Drive By Truckers, have moved me. I will check that out.

I'd love to do a big festival this year.

Wayne...I am jealous. AC/CD...Bon Scott singing "Let There Be Rock!" They ARE rock.

(Nice tie in for DBT and AC/DC, I also only like bands that can be referred to in acronyms, DBT, STP, 7M3, AC/DC)

Saw that on a Bonnaroo link. Thanks. I'm dreaming. I really need to get to Red Rocks!

Ramones say "Bird Is The Word!". I fell off the wagon while watching the Ramones. Wife was beat and went to bed. She found out by "lurking" I was drinking a few shots more than she realized. To satisfy my own childish attitude to do what I shouldn't, I opened a new bottle tonight!

Experience Hendrix was great! Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Johnny Lang, and Satriani were my favorites. Living Colour was pretty damn good as well. I get Eric Johnson but didn't care for him singing Hendrix. Robert Randolph is a good musician as well but his short set was my least favorite. Ernie Isley of the Isly Brothers is cool to watch. Stories of Jimi between seemless artist changeouts. Ended with jam session.

This was in Akron at the Akron Civic Theatre. Incredible venue from the 1920's with the most detailed sorroundings! The cieling was blue with simulated clouds. All the walls make you feel like your in a French Villa. I was about 19th row stage right. Cool cool night. I would pay 40 to see this again in a heartbeat.

Next stop. Altar Bar!

Amazing show. It was just him and a piano, very entertaining guy. Played all his best known stuff in a long 2 hour set. Definitely worth seeing again.

STP was the shit!!! Weiland beefed up a little bit, delivered an awesome show, commanded the crowd, we were all eating out of his hand. The band nailed every song to perfection. They opened with Wicked Garden and it got better and better! They played 3 or 4 songs from the new album, due out May 25. Cannot wait!

I'd tell you but they canceled the show. Some rule about no concert allowed to be held on campus during exam week.

Saw Justin Townes Earle last night. Great show. Played about 5 or 6 new songs that should be on album he is recording this year. Sounded really good, prob a bit more honky tonk than previous stuff.

Favorite part "I realised one day I never wrote a song combining my two favorite things, fried chicken and women, so here it is"
