I'll slightly retract my gripe from earlier- the club gave me the Advanced price, and the guy I talked to was a nice guy. I can't wait for tonight's show!

Just a quick update from last night...

Had a great time! Met up with a big crowd pre-show at Marikka's (great German food). The Roxy was definitely a "hot box" as Jason called it. The opening acts were interesting. Ash Wednesday was pretty good, all original material. At the end of their set the bass guitarist just went ape-shit crazy and destroyed his bass in the corner of the stage just slamming it into the amp and general mayhem. As Val said, I don't think it was planned...

Then they had Mokracy which pretty much only played covers (including Runnin' Down a Dream). They were good, but it felt like the order was backwards, cover band first? Oh well...

The boys came on around 11 and put on a great show. I've heard the Kentucky shows are really great and thats certainly true. The crowd was really into it. There was a knockdown nasty fight at one point, but in general I think it was a good crowd. The guys played a hell of a show, including a 7 minute version of Cumbersome. Tommy J's solo was awesome, he has really come to own that song now and made it into something new again.

I've got pictures to sort through this week and I'll post them up. A big thank you to BigRun, April, Wayne, Val, Trees and everyone else that helped me get back to the stage to get some decent pictures tonight, it was tight quarters!

Setlist:
Last Kiss
Settle Up
Rockcrown
Was a Ghost
Wait
Headstrong
Over Your Shoulder
My My
Sleepwalking
Lucky
Cumbersome
Out For Blood
Roderigo
Shelf Life
Dislocated
Water's Edge
---
Times Like These
Dead Flowers [Rolling Stones]
Rockin' in the Free World [Neil Young]

Awesome awesome awesome time last night. Was surprised venue's security wasn't as present as it was in the past...other than Kay and billy cool shoes. Great seeing the band after about 20 months for myself, and great seeing old and new faces. Wish tonight wasn't so far away.... now I've got the rock itch!! Everyone going tonight be safe.

Oh...and no, I don't think that was planned. And if there was any question, the "limp of shame" off the stage KINDA gave it away.....

Yeah and the look on his face about 5 minutes later when he realised what he had done... Classic.

So good to see so many friends last night. Great time. More and more for me its less about the music and more about catching up with great friends.

Great show last night (as usual). Great to see everyone again and spill some beer. The guys seemed happier than they have in the past few shows. Got to talk with Cassey and Tommy for a little while. Scored a setlist even though I was told I couldn't by one of our fans. I hope KFC has it. The only downfall was I missed most of Ghost and hurt my hand on someones head. The security there really sucks.

Hey all!

Hope you liked our opening set. Larry (our bass player) didn't know he was going to do that to his bass until he did it, hah.

I'd bore you with all the reasons that went down, but I'd rather enjoy the afterglow of a great night!

Once again, thanks for the kind words and if anyone has any pics of us from the show, please let me know!

hey phattmatt--where were you in the crowd? wondering if that was you next to me, someone I didn't recognize who knew all the lyrics. I was up front, first row behind the tables, in front of Ross.

Hey Trees,
If I were to choose someone from the crowd as PhattMatt, I would say it was he was the guy to our right. My height maybe a bit shorter, blonde hair, and has been at every show in Lexington, Louisville or Cincy for like the last three years.

Is this the person whom you are referring to?

I know who you are talking about bigrun, and am pretty sure you are correct. I've seen him at every "area" show for like 6 years now. Nice guy....last time I talked to him was at annies many years ago, he said he read the boards but didn't post... and i don't recall what his actual name was. But, again, that was mnay years ago...could be active poster by now. Love seeing new and old faces at these shows! <3

Your pics are really great! Thanks for sharing with us.

Also, what would we need to do for permission to use those pics on our website?
